Woodland Park Homeschool Day

We went to the WPZ homeschool day. Both kids were very engaged in the stations at the beginning. Moira was very excited to share the information she knows about animals with the staff members at each table. This year the theme was forests, so there was a lot of information about temperate and tropical forests, the animals that live in them, and the different layers of a forest.
Moira tried to collect all the field guide pages from the different stations. Davis just wanted to do the ones he was interested in.
We went to the talk, which was again, about the different types of forests (including Marine forests), and the animals that live in them. The staff member who gave the talk was very excited about homschooling.
She had a rubber boa for us to touch. Moira wanted to, but not Davis. The rubber boa came out at the Zoomazium later.
We saw the Tropical Asia exhibit, parts of Australia, the Banyan Wilds, and all the way up to the bears.
On our way out of the zoo, we found a hay maze. The kids did it three times, and then remarked that it was so easy. I pointed out that it was designed for toddlers.

There was another field guide sheet at the tigers, but Moira wasn't interested, she just wanted to explore the exhibit, and look at the sleepy guys. They have three male tigers right now, and are waiting for clearance to start breeding, obviously by trading tigers with another zoo.
The bird house no longer had seed sticks on weekdays, but the kids tried valiantly to get a bird to land on them. No dice.
