Moira designed a bunch of dresses she wants to make. We picked out fabric for the first one, talking about the different types of fabric and how they act differently.
This is her design. In addition to the fabrics chosen there are a bunch of things that will need to be added on.
After discussing how she wanted to make the dress, we ended up cutting the pattern into strips, and we cut out the first four tiers. What she was originally imagining wouldn't work with the fabric she selected (gathered tiers and 4 way stretch fabrics) so we talked about why, and ways to make a similar style in the chosen fabrics.
A small amount of sewing happened, but Moira was getting bouncy and stopped paying attention. A couple of pieces will need to be recut, but that's okay.
