Making fossils and learning about dinosaurs
Davis got a package from Little Passports that was all about dinosaurs. There was a stuffed stegosaurus, and the flashlight activity, and then the work book. It had a suggested activity of making dinosaur fossils, so Shannon got out the clay and a package of plastic dinosaurs she bought at a thrift store for just this occasion years ago.
The kids had fun showing our 2 year old friend Cameron how to pound the clay, and then they smushed it flat, and started making prints
The next step was to add glue, and then once the glue dries, you can pull out the glue and it will hold it's shape. It didn't work for us, either because we didn't let the clay dry before we added the glue, or we were using the wrong materials, or something. But the kids enjoyed it.
After they were done, the kids wanted to have a dinosaur wash, so we got a big bowl of soapy water, and everyone got something to scrub with.
