We did two weeks of M is for Monster since the kids were needing a break from each other. The first package was about cats. We read "Too Many Cats" and made a C look like a cat with pompoms and pipe cleaners. Davis drew lines for the eats and a circle for the nose.
Davis was supposed to figure out what color you would make with the two mentioned on the card, and then color the cat that color. He decided instead to layer the mentioned colors on top of each other, and then identified which color that would make. He was able to identify the secondary colors even though layering crayons obviously don't mix to make a new color. He laid the secondary color crayon next to the card so that "his friends could find out."
The second week was All About Me. Davis enjoyed the mirror, especially that it had a magnifying side and a flat side. He tried drawing the self portrait, and decided that he was an alien, and has green skin, and antenna.
We started the second activity, tracing his name in glue, but we didn't do the second step, after it dried of making a rubbing of his glue name. The glue was very runny and mostly flat by the time it dried.
